Kirckman Concerts Present: Regency String Quartet

Kings Place, London, N1 9AG

Description

Praised for their passionate and vivid performances, the Regency Quartet is a prize-winning string quartet based in London, who most recently won the 2025 Royal Over-Seas League String Ensembles Prize. This programme showcases masterworks from different eras of the string quartet.

Where better to start than with Haydn, the Father of the String Quartet? The Op. 20/4 is one of the quartet’s most treasured works to perform, particularly the affettuoso second movement which shares the beautiful thematic material across all four instruments. The Regency Quartet enjoys including works that are less often performed, to share them with a wider audience and to showcase the quartet’s diverse playing styles.
